Vegas Day 1

Ok, so mine and JAW's Vegas Man-cation has come to a close. Oh what a great time that it turned out to be...as if there was ANY doubt!!! I'm gonna split these blog entries up instead of doing one large blog (Vegas Day 1, 2, 3, etc).

Let me begin with Day 1...

Monday afternoon I flew into Vegas...30 minutes later JAW arrived from Columbus. This was his first time flying and his first visit to Vegas. It was early evening by the time we got dropped off by the shuttle at Harrah’s and got checked into our rooms We quickly unpacked, changed clothes, and hit the strip.

We weren't walking very long before we decided to take a cab to downtown Vegas. I really wanted JAW to see Freemont Street and "Old" Vegas. He really enjoyed the light show…he wondered if his X-Box could be hooked up to it! I've only been to downtown once before, so I even enjoyed seeing some of the stuff I missed before.

We casino hopped and drank when we could get service...then we went to Binion’s and JAW got to touch 1 MILLION dollars! HA! I wanna put my pinky up to my mouth when I say that...channeling Dr. Evil there!

We started playing blackjack at Binion’s and things didn't go JAW's way. My luck was a little better but after about 2 hours the house finally won with my donation! It was still early by Vegas standards so I convinced JAW to hang out while I played Let It Ride. Over the next 2 1/2 hours I had the best run of Let It Ride EVER! I hit 1 flush, at least 4 straits, and so many 2 pair I lost count. I won back what I lost in blackjack plus enough to cover our cab rides to/from downtown.

While I was playing, JAW and I noticed a trio of women sitting at bar. The few times he and I would walk by them heading to the restrooms; two of them would always take notice. I think they were sitting in the same spot for as long as I was playing Let It Ride.

Once I cashed out, JAW and I stopped by the bar to grab a beer for the ride back to the strip. We struck up a conversation with the ladies we noticed earlier and spent the next hour + or so chatting it up.

They were in town for a convention and were all from Toledo, OH (damn FIFO's...lol), so I'm gonna call them the Toledo Trio (TT). During our discussions it became apparent who the ring leader of the TT's were, every chick group has one. She had a boyfriend (who wasn't there) and it seemed that if she decided the group was going to do something, the other two followed suit.

The other two, oddly enough, were single. JAW quickly laid claim to the one that he was interested in…and it then fell to me to play wing man with the other. She was attractive, but not necessarily my type, but I know how this game is played. If JAW would have any chance with the one he wanted, I had to play wingman and take up the time of her friend. LOL!!!

When the ringleader of the TT said it was time to go, we exchanged numbers and they all left. JAW and I scouted out a little more of downtown and then caught a cab back to our hotel. We hit up McD’s for some late-night drunk munchies and then headed to our room. I think the last time I looked at my watch before crashing it read 4:30 am.

All-in-all a great first day in Vegas. I had my best run at Let It Ride, JAW got to fly for the first time and visit Vegas for the first time, and we both got to chat it up with some eligible ladies!!!
