Up & Up

My first week back in Austin has been getting progressively better...and life is returning to a sense of normalcy.

A co-worker and I began our workout regime and it really feels great to be back in the gym. I've worked out everyday in the last 7 days except Thursday. The cool part is I even felt guilty about skipping out then! ;-) It's nice having a workout partner for those days you need motivation.

My overall mood has improved dramatically. As with all breakups, when time passes I let go of my anger. I'm eager to see what type of women Austin has to offer...

I have started to transition into my new lead position as work. It's going to be a very stressful job, but I've wanted to be in management my whole life, so I'm thankful for the opportunity. My days at work fly by and no two days are ever the same...something I enjoy.

I didn't want to bring it up under my 2011 New Years Resolutions blog post, because I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to keep this one. Yet, as of today I have not drank a beer (or alcohol) in over two weeks. The last night I drank was Christmas night, which was the day this bad guy became single again. I'm not certain if this is something I'm going to give up permanently, but I made it through the breakup drama and New Years without drinking anything...so if I can get through my birthday coming up this month, then I should be able to swear off drinking for a long time!!!

I'm looking forward to my mother flying down at the end of this week for a visit. We are going to explore Texas and as much of Austin as we can in 10 days. Plans are to go to San Antonio, maybe drive down to the beach (Port Aransas). I am going to show her Hamilton Pool for sure. We may also drive up to Shreveport, LA to visit a child-hood friend and gamble a little at the casinos up there. I haven't played poker in so long I think I have forgotten how! ;-)

Well, I'm sure I'll do a blog post and bring you all up to speed on what we got into.

I hope all is well with you and your family...thanks for reading!!!
