I know people usually make their New Year Resolutions much earlier than I am. Considering all of the recent drama in my life, I didn't want to make a hasty decision in something I usually put great emphasis on.
So I have pondered, self-reflected, had discussions with family and friends, and even gone back through my own blog looking for clues as to what I should change in the New Year.
Of course, my standard resolutions will still hold true for this year: live healthy, work-out, etc. What's different this year, however, is I have a brand new resolution, which is by far the most important one I've set for myself in a long time.

In the great year of Two-Thousand and Eleven, I JR. Ruble resolve to AVOID the "charity case" women.
My past relationships have been like a recurring episode of "Extreme Makeover" ~ Girlfriend Edition!!! I always seem to date the ones that are unemployed, broke, no transportation (or a drive a junker), living with their parents, have kids (with crazy baby's daddies), no life goals, and no ambition to improve themselves.
Is it that hard to find a woman that has goals? With the drive and determination to pursue them? It would be nice to find one that has succeeded in a few of them even! Not just "I'm hoping to do XXX one day".
Maybe I'm just jaded, I don't know. I'm almost 31 years old. I've never been married and I don't have any kids. Never has any of my ex's gotten a hold of my current girl friend's phone number to harass them, or for that matter ever tried to fight them. EX's are EX's for a REASON!
I have a four-year college education, past military experience, and I have a great job with benefits and a lot of time off. I own my own home (though it's currently for sale) and I own a reliable vehicle. My bills are paid promptly and if I need/want something, I can usually buy it.
Is there a woman out there that even comes close to these accomplishments? Please don't think I'm bashing on you women. I'm just tired of finding the losers of your sex...and yes I'm aware that there are many men that are like this too. I guess I might be the exception, not the rule. Not like that helps!
Women wanted equal rights in the 60's and 70's, right? So would it kill a chick to pay for dinner just ONCE? Or a movie? Or their $6 drinks? Or vacations?
Why does it all fall on my lap? I guess it's because I LET it happen! So no more charity from me in 2011...
Ok...I'm off my soapbox now.
In closing, for 2011 and beyond, JR's wallet is closed. If I'm dating a chick and her car breaks down, she can't pay her rent, she needs help with a bill, etc...OH WELL.
The "Bank of JR & (eventually) RUIN MY TRUST" is closed for business!!!

JR, you sound like a LOT of my GIRLfriends! haha girls are always bitching that they put in a ton of effort and their boyfriends are losers that ultimately screw them over.
